Today we watched a good number of our class’s presentations about NIST. We gave the presenters feedback about their presentations and in what ways they could improve.
Your task is to leave a COMMENT listing your top 5 suggestions for people presenting to an audience. This should reflect the type of feedback that you heard after our presentations today. Feel free to comment about other people’s comments.
In addition to this, as we didn’t get to maths today, please log-on and spend a solid 20-25 minutes on Mathletics. If possible look at equivalent fractions.

The piece of Art I choose was the restraunt one I like this one because the letters where the alphabet. Also when you looked closely you couldn’t really read the sign because your eyes are more focusing on the detail more than the letters but when you move back you can see more of the picture. I don’t think that this poster doesn’t really have a message but if it had maybe it was the sentence on the poster: What Happens in a Restraunt.
I thinkt the most attractive one was the sushi I think that it was attractive becasue the background is white and the sushi is bright so that is eye catching and also the way they made the sushi with wool was also really catching becasue it makes you wonder more about what it is acually made of.
I really liked this field trip because we saw things that we don’t see in our daily lives and we also got to see the ceramic pots and pans made 100 – 2000 years already. I really enjoyed this trip.

When I heard that we were going to a museum I thought it would be boring because usually at museums you cant touch anything you are only allowed to look.
At this museum it was more exciting because you could watch things, you could touch some thngs and there even was an excibition there so we could play games.
My favorite part of the museum was the exsibition on MK and the touching corner. I didnt really enjoy the exsibition of the winner about something because you coulnt really do anything. I could go on touching the objects at the touching corner for ages because I felt really sparkly when I touched them it was differnt from all the other times I touched fragile objects.
My favorite was the sushi as I said but I didnt really get the message of the four sushis.

It was a new experiece for me to find out about posters that had won award.
My favourite piece was the poster with the word ‘Something Happened in the Restraunt’. The poster was interseting becuase it was made from pictures. I think the message might be that information can be looked from anywhere like from far away we can see the words but if we are close it can be a story. The problem with the picture was the letters wasn’t that clear. The mueseums with fars and all the artifacts was intersting. The way they lined up all there things was very neat.

The field trip was cool. When I went inside the photo studio everything was so bright.
The designers used plain white back round in most of the pictures and big fat letters. The ones in White,Yellow and other bright colors were Eye catching. Some of the designers used letters and pictures to get their massage around the world. Some of the designers had ideas like the one was ‘ Something Happened In the Restaurant’. It was an good idea. Some people like me to take long to get to the point until I saw the pictures in the letters.
To me which made me got the massage was the Indian picture. The pictrued showed that the average of an 15 and below kids are getting married. I choose it because I suport the girls because the kids under 10 might not know what they are doing and because it is unlucky from them that do not know what it means. The massage was to help the girls not to get married and if you saw below it says ‘ Please help these girls and please donate some money to help. Go to this website…’

When we whent to the University we visited the Art Gallery.
My favorite piece of art was the one of a girl having acid thrown on her face, because you get the message straight away. In this peice of work the artist shows the way some girls are treated in India. I like this piece because it shocked me and made me stop and look at it.

I liked the man with the brain pointing at a private part.
The picture I chose was very interesting and funny. It was a cover of a magazine. I think the publisher chose the picture for the cover because it is an eye-catching and it will sell a lot of copies. I think it will grab people’s attention. I think the trip was good and educational. We were also lucky to see ancient artifacts and appreciated the beauty of it. I enjoyed the trip very well.

Today we visited the ‘Young Guns Design Exhibition’ at the Bangkok Universtity Rangsit Campus. It featured award wining designs from around the world. We were also lucky enought to visit the Southeast Asian Ceramics Museum and saw a display of university student work about the marketing of MK Restaurants.
It was a good opportunity for us all to reflect on ‘what makes a good presentation’ and to see how professional designers have implemented the use of ‘clear’, ’simple’ and ‘to the point’ images to get their message across.
Homework for 6CB: Leave a comment to this posting. Think about the first Exhibition we saw this morning. How do you think designers use clear, simple images to get their message across? How did the designers get their ideas ‘to the point’?
Think about the display you shared with a partner whilst at the exhibition today. Write a short paragraph explaining:
- What the display showed.
- Why you chose to share that display.
- What the designer’s message was.
Here are some pictures of what we saw today. Share these with your parents and show them what you saw. Explain what you learned about displaying information and how you could use this in your Y6 Exhibition Presentation.

You all made some comments about what you thought you could see when looking at the small picture, but what happened when you got the big picture?
Now that the big pictures have been added to all of our posts, leave a quick comment adding your ideas to this statement:
When I was given the big picture I……
Don’t forget to back-up any statements you make with evidence and/or examples.
